지난 토요일인 2010년5월29일에 CSIC/CMI (Canadian Migration Institute )에서 BC PNP에 대한 교육 워크샵 (Education Workshop)이 있었습니다.

이 워크샵에서 BC 주정부는 아래 9개 직업 군(자연, 건강, 과학분야)에 대해서는 석, 박사 학위를 받으면 고용 제안을 받기 전에도 BC주정부 이민을 신청할 수 있다는 3년 Pilot Project 를 발표했습니다.

· Engineering
· Engineering Technology
· Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences
· Mathematics and Statistics
· Natural Resources Conservation and Research
· Physical Sciences

또한 BC주정부는 International Graduate 카테고리에 대한 업데이트를 발표했습니다.

업데이트 된 내용은 다음과 같습니다.

Education
기존에는 BC주 내의 공립전문대 이상을 졸업해야 했음 ->새로 업데이트 된 내용에는 전체 CANADA 내 공립전문대 이상 졸업으로 변경

Occupation
기존에는 O.A.B 기술직이었어야 함 -> 새로 업데이트 된 내용에는 C.D직종이어도 가능.
(Employer 가 비 기술직을 기술직으로 승진시킬 의향표시)

성적
기존에는 GPA 70% 이상이었어야 함 -> 새로 업데이트 된 내용에는 GPA언급이 없음.

유효기간 연장
기존에는 마지막 성적표 발급일로부터 1년 -> 마지막 성적표 발급입로부터 2년

이번 BC PNP 유학생 이민 문호 개방은 캐나다 내의 다른 주들과의 경쟁력을 키우고 또 캐나다에서 학교를 졸업한 유학생들이 BC주 경제 발전에 도움이 된다고 판단하기에 내린 결정입니다.

아울러, BC주정부는 유학생이민을 2010년 타깃으로 3500명을 승인할 것으로 발표 했습니다.

앞으로 캐나다이민에 관심이 있는 사람들은 각 주정부 이민 프로그램의 업데이트 내용을 주시할 필요가 있습니다.

Education

Nominee applicants in this category must have satisfied the requirements for an eligible degree or diploma – described below – as conferred by a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada, before applying to the BC PNP. An eligible degree or diploma program considered under the BC PNP is:

Degree
    * The degree (undergraduate or graduate) must have been awarded from a post-secondary institution in Canada that:
         1. If located in British Columbia:
               1. has been established under an Act of the British Columbia legislature; or,
               2. has completed the required government-mandated quality assessment process and has obtained Ministerial consent under the Degree Authorization Act.
         2. If located in Canada but outside British Columbia, Is authorized under the statute of any other province or territory to confer degrees including the undergraduate or graduate degree on which the Nominee Applicant is basing the application to the BC PNP.

Occupation
The BC PNP uses the National Occupational Classification (NOC) to classify jobs according to the duties, formal qualifications and experience required by the employer.
The BC PNP will consider applications for positions under Skill Levels 0, A and B of the NOC Matrix (PDF - 70KB). The BC PNP will also consider applications for positions under Skill Levels C and D of the NOC Matrix where the employer can demonstrate that there is a structured career progression to an occupation at Skill Level 0, A or B.
Applicants to the International Graduates category of the BC PNP are not required to have any previous work experience. 
The NOC helps determine whether the job meets the skill levels established for Strategic Occupations, and whether the nominee candidate’s qualifications and experience match the requirements of the job. The NOC is also used to identify relevant information on wage rates and labour availability for the occupation.
