Jason, a 19-year-old patient, was admitted to a medical unit because of increasing lethargy and confusion, possibly related to poor glucose regulation. jason was diagnosed as having diabetes mellitus at age 14, and was initially difficult to regulate due to his lies about his intake, physical fighting with peers, and tendency to stay out all night.
