In leptin-infused diabetic rats, body weight remained at similar levels from d 0 for 2 wk, and then it
gradually increased in diabetic rats, although it remained lower than the control group (Fig. 1).

Central resistin infusion increased body weight in a similar way to the CSF-infused diabetic rats, and consistent with food intake, resistin nullified the leptin effect on body weight (Fig. 1).

Overall, the changes in body weight in normal rats exhibited similar patterns to those in diabetic rats (Tables 1 and 2).
