지난 겨울, 지호는 학생들과 함께 남극에 갔다. 이건 그의 여행일기이다.

3. Jan. 11

1월 11일

4. We arrived in Antarctica this morning.

우린 아침에 남극에 도착했다.

5. It took aout three and a half days to get here.

여기까지 오는데 반나절하고 세시간이 더걸렸다.

6. After we left Seoul, we changed airplanes three times.

서울을 떠난 후 우리는 비행기를 세번 갈아탔다.

7. I was very tired, but it was great to be in Antarctica.

나는 매우 피곤하였지만 남극에 있다는건 정말 멋졌다.

8. Everything was covered with snow.

모든것이 눈에 덮여있었다.

9. It was so beautiful.

너무 아름다웠다.

10. Our trip didn't end there.

우리여행은 거기서 끝나지 않았다.

11. We had to take a boat to get to the Sejong base.

우린 세종기지에 가기위해 배를 타야했다.

12.The boat rocked so much that I got sick. In an hour, we arrived at the base.

그배는 매우흔들려서 나는 멀미가 났다. 한시간 후 우리는 세종기지에 도착했다.

13. Today was the longest day of my life.

오늘은 내인생중 가장 길게느껴지는하루였다.

14.  It was a beautiful day today.

오늘은 아름다운 하루다.

15. We hiked to a mountain near the base.

우리는 세종기지 주변의 산을 올랐다.

16. On our way there, we saw lots of penguins.

산을 오르는 도중 우리는 많은 펭귄을 보았다.

17. They were walking around on their short legs.

그 펭귄들은 그 짧은다리로 걸어다니고 있었다.

18. They I got close to the penguins, I had to cover my nose.

그 펭귄들이 가까이 와서 나는 나의 코를 가려야 했다.

19. Surprisingly, they smelled terrible.

놀랍게도 그것들이 냄새는 매우 지독했다.

20. After breakfast, we went fishing with Dr.

아침을 먹은 후 우리는 박사님과 낚시를 했다

21. kim. I caught a big fish.

김박사님과 나는 큰 고기를 잡았다.

22. On our way back to the base, I heard a terrible sound.

세종기지로 돌아오는 중, 나는 시끄러운 소리를 들었다.

23. The sound was from an iceberg which was breaking up.

그 소리는 깨지고 있는 빙하에서 나는 소리였다.

24. Dr. Kim said that many icebergs were melting because of global warming.

김박사는 지구온난화 때문에 많은 빙하가 녹고있다고 말하였다.

25. In the afternoon, Yumi and I made a snowman.

오후에 유미와 나는 눈사람을 만들었다.

26. The snow hers is strange.

여기있는 눈은 이상하다.

27. It is like flour, so it was very diffichlt to make snowballs.

마치 밀가루와 같아서 눈을 뭉치기가 매우 힘들었다.

28.We did our best, but our snowman Iooked ugly.

우리는 최선을 다했지만 우리의 눈사람은 못생겨보였다.
