To "hold hands" means that, the holder and the holdee, while touching an insignificant (small) part of each other, feel as though they co-possess the infinite time and space.

Therefore, I'd rather believe, stupid as it may seem, that the reason people evolved into bipedal creatures was to "hold hands", not to use tools or make fire.
