TV can help you to absorb information easily through visual means. That is, you can easily learn several skills by watching the images or pictures on TV, whereas it seems relatively difficult to learn them by reading. For example, if you try to learn how to play golf through books, then you sill find it difficult to get the basics you need such as how to swing or putt. However, as you watch a golf program on TV, you will be able to learn easily with the explanations famous golfers give and motions they perform visually.

TV는 시각적인 방법으로 정보를 쉽게 습득할 수 있게 도와줍니다. 말하자면, 여러분은 독서를 통해서는 비교적 배우기가 힘들어 보이는 것도 TV 상의 영상이나 그림을 보면서 몇몇 기술을 쉽게 배울 수 있습니다.

It is well-known that walking with wide steps has almost the same effect as running. This exercise is called power walking or fitness walking. There are not any special skills people meed for power walking, but there are some things they have to know. First of all, people should not bend their kness too much. Also, they should be careful not to swing their arms sideways. A straight posture is heplful not only for losing weight, but also for keeping your waist healthy.

I can remember when I had some trouble with math in sixth grade. Every result of a math exam was terrible. That fact always made me sad and depressed. I asked my older sister for help since she was very good at math. At first, she, who was a high school student, didn't want to help me because she was too busy. I could understand that, but I really needed her. So, I suggested giving her some money for her help and she accepted my suggestion. For about three months, I studied math with my sister's help everyday for two hours. I felt that she taught me well. Finally, I got an A on the mid-term exam.

내가 6학년일 때 수학이 어려워 힘들었을 때 기억이 납니다. 수학 성적이 형편 없었습니다. 그 사실이 항상 나를 슬퍼게 했고 실망시켰습니다. 누나(혹은 오빠)가 수학을 잘 했기 때문에 항상 그에게 도움을 청하곤 했습니다. 처음에 그녀는 자기도 바쁘다는 이유로 나를 도와 주려고 하지 않았습니다. 난 그녀의 사정을 잘 이해는 했지만 그래도 그녀의 도움이 정말 필요했었지요. 그래서 자기가 나를 도와 주면 돈을 주겠다고 제의를 해서 그녀의 수락을 얻게 되었습니다. 거의 3 개월 간을 저는 매일 두 시간동안 그녀의 도움으로 수학 공부를 하였지요. 그녀가 정말 잘 가르쳤다는 느낌이 들었습니다. 결국, 난 중긴 고사 수학 시험에 수를 받게 되었습니다.

When a person, group of people or country disapproves of certain rules or policies of another organization or country, they refuse to trade with them. They don's buy things from them or sell things to them. This activity is called boycotting. A famous example of boycotting is the Civil Rights struggle in American's south. In short, the black people sho refused to follow the local bus company's policy of making them sit in the back seats, stopped utilzing that company's buses. Because of the financial loss caused by this, the company finally allowed them to sit anywhere on the buses. However, the results of boycotts are not always successful.

어떤 사람, 어떤 그룹이나 국민들이 다른 조직체나 국가의 규칙이나 정책을 인정하지 않을 때 그들과 무역을 거부하는 것이 됩니다. 바꾸어 말하면 그들로 부터 물건을 사지도 그들에게 팔지도 않겠다는 의미가 되지요. 이러한 행위를 보이콧이라고 부릅니다. 유명한 보이콧의 예는 미국 남부에 있어 시민권 투쟁이란 것이지요.



한마디로 이야기 하자면, 어느 지방 버스회사의 정책 곧 흑인들을 버스 뒷 자석에 앉히려는 정책을 거부하는 흑인들이 그회사의 버스 이용하기를 거부했다는 것입니다. 이러한 현상으로 빚어진 재정적자로 인하여 결국 그 회사는 그 흑인들로 하여금 버스 어느 장소에서든지 원하는 곳을 이용할 수 있도록 허가했다는 것입니다. 그러나 보이콧의 결과가 항상 성공한다는 것은 아닙니다.

These days, an interesting part-time jod is very popular amoung young people. The job is to be the congratulators of brides and grooms whom they do not even know. This job is simple and easy, but the pay is quite high. The part-times are just asked to pretend to be the brides' or grooms' friends or relatives, smiling brightly. According to surveys dome by agencies, the number of newly-married couples who want this service is increasing more and more. These couples are usually afraid that few people will come to their weddings because of their private problems.

요즈음 흥미있는 시간제 직업은 젊은 이들 사이에 매우 인기가 있습니다. 한 예로 전혀 모르는 신랑 신부를 축하해주는 직업이 있습니다. 이 직업은 간단하고 또 쉬운 반면에 보수는 매우 높습니다. 화사하게 웃으면서 신랑 신부의 친구나 친척인양 시늉만을 하면 되도록 요청을 받지요. 조사 기간에서 행한 조사에 의하면 이와 같은 봉사를 원하는 신혼부부의 숫자는 갈수록 증가하고 있다고 합니다. 보통 이러한 신혼부부들은 그들 개인의 문제로 인하여 많은 사람들이 그들의 결혼식에 참가 하지 못할 것을 걱정하는 사람들이라고 합니다.

Now, the library in our school is open from 9 am to 8 pm. Monday to Friday. On weekends, the library is cclosed seven earlier than on weekdays. A lot of suedents have complained about the library hours because they cannot use the library late at night. so, our committee decided to change the library hours. From the first day of the next month on, the library will be open 24 hours everday. Students can utilize the library whenever they want. In addition, we are going to run resting rooms and sleeping rooms for tired students. We hope you know that we are always trying to do our best for you. Thanks.

Some animals play important roles-in law enforcement, helping humans. A famous example is the horse. Horse have been used for a long time for various kinds of work, especially for crowd control.

The Horse' height helps the people on their backs see farther than whose on the ground. Also, horses are so fast that the mounted police officers can get places very quickly. Moreover, the police officers can get to dangerous and difficult places with their horses. These advantages of using horses are effective in controlling crowded places such as football fields.

법을 집행하는 데 있어서나 인간을 도우는데 있어 몇 동물들은 중요한 역활을 하고 있습니다. 중요한 한가지 예는 말입니다. 말은 오래동안 여러가지 일을 수행하는데 도움을 주었는데 특별히 대중을 통제하는데 유용하게 사용되었습니다. 높은 말의 신장이 말을 탄 사람들로 하여금 타지 않은 사람들 보다 더 멀리 볼 수 있게 해 줍니다.

On summer nights, we can see small stars flying in the air. Actually, these are not stars but fireflies. There are many guesses about the reasons why fireflies light up. some people think that their lights are saying 'I love you' to other firefiles. That is the firefiles are trying to be attractive for other firefiles by lighting up. Other people belive that the light is a survival method for fireflies. Insects which have bright colors or lights don't usually taste good. People think that fireflies have this natural characteristic to protect themselves from predators. Even though the reasons why fireflies light up are still a mystery, one thing is certain : they make us feel fantastic and dreamlike with their lights.
